Revell aims to combine their new and original ideas with consistent high quality products. Even though model kit construction is most commonly considered a male pastime, Revell has recently increased its market to also target fashion-conscious girls with their ME&SUE line and have tapped into popular culture with their Kick-O-Mania brand that features models of famous soccer players. They also now cater to younger children with their easykit product line that features traditional aircrafts and cars but also vehicles from the latest Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith. This shows Revell’s evolution to remain up-to-date and relevant even in a society where model kits are slowly becoming a pastime of yesteryear.
Revell also now manufactures its own airbrushes for ease of model painting. A step up from the method of using a traditional paintbrush, Revell airbrushes are designed to apply paint evenly over the model and get into all the nooks and crannies that a traditional paintbrush would find it difficult to. Revell’s ‘spray guns’ cater for all experience levels in model-making and painting, from their starter class guns to their master class guns.
Revell’s Spray Gun ‘Starter Class’ (29666) is a perfect starter airbrush for a child painting their first easy kit or simply a novice to the world of model kits. This spray gun can quickly and simply paint large surfaces as well as evenly coating the hard-to-get places on a model. Not only does it work with your standard liquid paints, but it also works just as effectively with more viscous paints, covering your model with an even coat of paint. For the more experienced model makers, Revell has available a Spray Gun ‘Master Class’ in three styles – Vario (39107), Professional (39108) and Flexible (39109). These airbrushes are developed especially for experts and come with different nozzles to enable experts to create better ageing and camouflage effects while being better able to apportion the amount of paint used on the model.
