Can i use regular liquid food coloring in my airbrush?

I don't know if i could just use regular liquid food coloring in my airbrush or should i use a special kind of food coloring. I need the airbrush for cakes and only cakes. I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this problem. Thank you.
